The diary of an incredible mum 3: Baby on board

Sponsored by Arike Nursing Covers…

I can’t wear my clothes comfortably any longer, I lamented early that morning to my one and only flat mate…my husband. I stood in front of the mirror for about 20 minutes, I couldn’t believe my latest look, my nose was becoming wider, my breasts were also getting bigger, my tummy kept increasing in size on a daily basis and of course my outfits were becoming smaller.

Although I have a petite and unique figure yet my stature was turning from size 4 to 8…and I was not sure of what my size will be the next day; I was only 24 weeks then.

It was obvious to all that I was pregnant. Here and there I hear people call me ‘Iya ibeji.’ Getting favours and gifts I did not deserve…people are generally nice to you when you are pregnant in my community. I remember asking my husband in one of those instances if my tummy was that big…you can guess what his response was. (facepalm)

Even though I love shopping but shopping especially for my stuffs and clothing was not encouraging because what fits today can become tight overnight. Only because I wanted to be known as pretty preggy, trending and glowing in pregnancy, I avoided ‘oversized’ outfits like ‘bubu’ and the likes.  Don’t let me say I learnt my lesson in a hard way because all the stuffs I got are no longer in use, I’ve returned to my size 4 (yay!). Who knows if they will still be trending when I’m pregnant again… (the thought of the second pregnancy is scary even for now…lol)
