‘MASK’ LEAVE

As my maternity leave was approaching,

Little did I know that I was about to embark on a new journey, a new adventure, new job description…and my long and continuous ‘to do list’

I somehow thought it was a long holiday to rest, play, sleep and probably add more flesh by eating anytime, every day and anywhere

At least I’ve been ‘temporarily’ set ‘free’ from my boss, colleagues and LAGOS TRAFFIC…

But right now, I can write a book on what it entails especially when you have no one around to help

As long as my chairman (my baby) is awake

I am practically permanently ‘on call’….lol

By default, he demands my uncompromising FULL attention

I can only sneak out of the room to do exclusive things like having a bath and stuff when he is asleep

Even while playing all by himself, he still needs an ‘angel’ (that would be me…lol!) to watch over him.

And of course when he decides to change his mind…well….I’m in for it! (tired face)

Truth be told, this is not in any way a ‘suffering and smiling’ situation

In fact, It is a phase I will miss when it does pass, that is when my son grows

I am really enjoying this new phase (am I for real? Laughing out loudly!)

Oh…got to go…my chairman is asleep…*wink***

Although it is me time but also my rest time for today

And when he is awake, my job continues…

In conclusion, I am of the opinion that there is nothing like maternity leave (rest, rest and rest) but mask leave (indescribable and unlimited work, work and work)

What do you think?
