8 ways to vocalise your love for your children

“Mum: I love you more than you love me.
Tami: Really?! I never knew that. I thought I love you more
Mum: I carried you in my womb for nine Good months so I will always love you….
Tami: Hmmmmmm…that’s a long time”

This conversation happened recently between my older son and I, he was trying to prove a point to me, so I told him about my selfless love for him.

Do your children know that you love them?

Always tell your children in your action and words HOW MUCH you love them.

Here are 8 ways to vocalise your love for your children:

1. Tell them as often as you can. Don’t just love them in your mind, love them in your speech.

2. Get them gifts. This shouldn’t be limited to special occasions and do not have to be expensive.

3. Help them with their homework or difficult challenges.  I know we all want to raise responsible children,  however,  we need to show them the way before we demand the route from them.

4. Be available. They want to see you during their school Open-Day, Inter-House Sport, PTA meeting…and also at home with them. Make out time to enjoy their childhood with them.

5. Respect them – their opinions, choices, thought patterns, personalities…This is the beginning of raising a child with confidence, responsibility and maturity.

6. Love your spouse. Don’t let your love for your spouse be in the ‘other room’ only, let your children be witnesses.

7. Play with your children

8. Lead them to Jesus. He is the only LOVE that sacrificed His life for all.
