Why? Parenting is service to God.
Your children are the menu on God’s table
He gave them to us to prepare them in a way that would be pleasing to Him when he comes to have a taste (i.e. when He looks down from Heaven)
He gave us the recipe and the ingredients, which is in the Bible and until we open the Bible, we may not know the right proportions.
He gave us a professional tutor to enable us in this assignment of preparation – the Holy Spirit – to guide us in handling their raw state, processed form and method of delivery.
He gave us physical partners (our spouses and the right community) to work with so we don’t get tired.
He wants the best version of that menu (our children) to be delivered to Him because He has an uncompromising taste bud.
Dear Kingdom Parents, if your children are indeed on God’s menu, then you have to be:
1. Intentional about their preparation – talk to God daily using the recipe and the Tutor He provided.
2. Intentional about their preservation – the environment in which you are grooming your children must be healthy
3. Intentional about their presentation – their outcome matters and God must be proud of who and what they become.
May God help us all to deliver excellently in this parenting assignment!
Romans 12:1 CEV – Dear friends, God is good. So I beg you to offer your bodies (children) to him as a living sacrifice, pure and pleasing. That’s the most sensible way to serve God.
