28/09/2025 – Prayer Series: ASK
Memory Verse: Matthew 7:7 – “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
Do you know that God loves to hear your voice? Sometimes we think God is too big to listen to us. We feel He only does great things for adults, and that our parents, rich uncles, or caring aunties are the ones who give us what we need. But that’s not true. God is waiting for everyone including childrento make their requests.
When you need something, don’t grumble, don’t be fearful, don’t complain, and don’t compare yourself with others. Instead, just ASK
Here’s what ASK means:
A – Accept
Accept that God is the Giver of ALL things.
The Bible says: “You are my son; today is your birthday. What do you want? Name it: Nations as a present? Continents as a prize?” (Psalm 2:7-8 MSG).
If God gives us breath every day, then He can surely give us bread too. He has given us everything we need for life.
S – Surrender
Surrender your needs to God and not to man.
The Bible says: <span;>“Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3 NIV).
If God has the whole world in His hands, then I should put my small needs in His hands too, because He will meet them.
<span;>Rachel once thought her husband could give her what she wanted—a child. But that was something only God could do (Genesis 30:1-2). Don’t make the same mistake. Trust God with your needs.
K – Know
Know that God is capable of answering.
The Bible says: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5 NIV).
The boy who gave Jesus his meal of five loaves and two fish believed in what God could do (John 6:9-11). And Jesus used that small meal to feed thousands!
Knowing who God is brings rest to every worry, because you know He has everything under control. The Bible also says: <span;>“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.” (Ephesians 3:20 NIV).
Remember
Never forget that God is your Father.
Jesus said:“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him!” (Matthew 7:9-11 NIV).
So children, don’t be afraid. Don’t think your requests are too small. God is waiting for your prayer, and He will answer in a way that brings you joy and glorifies His Name.
Prayer:
“Dear Lord, thank You because You love me and You hear my voice. I accept that You are the Giver of all things. I surrender all my needs to You, and I know You are able to answer me. Help me to always come to You first and to trust You with everything. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
Affirmation:
“I will not grumble or complain. I will not be afraid or compare myself with others. I will ASK my Heavenly Father, because He loves me and He will answer me.”
