5 Lessons I learnt from a TRAIN regarding Parenting.

Almost every one can quote the scripture that says, “Train up a child in the way he should go…” especially when one *notices* a wayward child around…but do you know that the first step in training a child is to be trained.

If a parent isn’t well trained, then the child will be…? Your guess is as good as mine.

You can’t give what you don’t have.
You can’t expect a miracle when you do nothing
Even the miracles in the BIBLE are products of ACTIONS.

This has inspired me to analyse a moving train as regards to parenting. Here are the 5 lessons I have learnt so far.

1. “Train up a child in the way he should go…”.

The moving object ‘Train’ is functional when its in operation. As parents, we have to be consistent and intentional regarding this command.

If we do it today and change our mind tomorrow, we may arrive at our goal too late or never achieve our goal.

2. “Train up a child in the way he should go…”.

The moving object ‘Train’ has a driver or an operator.

Who is in charge of ‘training’ your children?

Fine, it wasn’t stated that ‘train up your child’ however it is expected of every parent to be the number 1 role model or influencer in his/her children’s lives

3. “Train up a child in the way he should go…”.

The moving object ‘Train’ doesn’t ride anywhere, it drives on it own tracks that leads to a specific destination.

Do  you have a well structured and Intentional way of nurturing these little ones, or any thing goes?

You can’t afford not to have parenting goals else you will get derailed or off-track, and get stuck or crash

4. “Train up a child in the way he should go…”.

The moving object ‘Train’ picks up and drops off some passengers as it journeys.

Therefore, you need to be flexible in this journey.

As the children grow, some parenting styles need to change so as not to lose the children.

5. “Train up a child in the way he should go…”.

The moving object ‘Train’ has it own unique fuel to move. And if it out of fuel, no matter who drives or what the prayer point is, it will not move.

Stay connected with your source. This is the only way this parenting journey can be smooth.

“Train up a child in the way he should go…”.

What can you say about a train regarding parenting?
