The birth of every child is a fulfillment of God’s agenda. Pregnancy is not just a result of sexual intercourse. God has purposed that YOUR son or daughter will come through you at such a time like this and gave them to you as a special gift. Therefore start with God on this journey and don’t start alone, continue with God forever.
A to Z ways to experience successful motherhood
A – Abide with God
B – Believe in God
C – Commit to God
D – Dedicate every child to God
E – Exercise patience with God. Every child will not develop the same way. God loves varieties, I am sure you know and if you don’t, look around. Because your child isn’t responding in a particular way or not reaching a certain mile-stone doesn’t make him/her a castaway. She/He is a special being, created for God’s glory.
F – Follow God’s instructions
G – Guard your heart
H – your Home should be a place of positive influence and where you lead your children to God.
I – Intentionality – be Intentional
J – Judge not
K – Know each child individually
L – don’t LORD over your children
M – Mentor every child. This is one of the reasons I think children don’t fall from heaven
N – Nurture your children according to God’s standard
O – Opportunity – motherhood is an Opportunity, use it wisely
P – Partner with God. You can’t afford to walk this journey alone.
Q – Quiet time. – Engage in Quiet time. These are times when you declare God’s words into the lives of your children.
R – Retreat, Refresh and Restart. There are no super mums anywhere. This strategy is very important if you don’t want to transfer aggression on your children.
S – Supervise and don’t do everything. Motherhood is not a servant role. And we all learn by doing. You will raise responsible children/leaders when you give them tasks/chores.
T – Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Training is an investment which its dividends are enjoyed by those that fully engaged in it.
U – Understand every child’s uniqueness/purpose/gift
V – View your child through God’s eyes.
V – Voice – Give your children a voice. Help them express themselves clearly, as well as their God-given talents
W – Word for the world. Engage your children with scriptures. If they can understand cartoons, then they should be able to understand the Bible. Do not limit memory verses and bible studies to Sunday School.
X – Cut out eXcesses
Y – ‘You’ are important in this journey. You need to equip yourself, enjoy your relationship with God because you can’t give what you don’t have.
Z – Zeal – Your Zeal matters. Be passionate about motherhood. Don’t just be a ‘waka-pass’ passerby I mean.
