Can you try to perceive the odour or aroma around you? OK…let me allow you to run to your mum’s or dad’s corner, open their perfumes and smell it. Which of these do you like better?
If you have Fragrance diffusers around you, maybe in your sitting room or your room you may feel comfortable with the smell however if you were watching when someone just got a food burnt or fart then you will prefer to stay in your parents room and enjoy the smell from their perfumes all day. Am I right?
Likewise in our daily lives, some people smell in an awful manner, not because they weren’t wearing deodorants or body spray or perfumes but because their behaviour or character stings.
Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, dfaithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Let’s read it from another translation
Galatians 5:22-23 EEB
But God’s Spirit causes us to live in a different way. We love other people. We are happy and we have peace in our minds. We are patient, kind and good. People can trust us to do what is right. 23 We respect other people and we rule ourselves properly. God’s Spirit helps us to live in that way. There is no law that says these things are wrong.
Do you dispense the Fragrance of the Generals?
When you are in your school, church, with your friends and siblings can people perceive that:
1. You love other’s genuinely
2. You are joyful and not always sad or moody
3. You are calm and courageous
4. You do not rush even when others are
5. You show concern about others
6. You show care for others
7. Your have integrity and you tell the truth always.
8. You are not a noise maker and talk too much.
9. You are discipline- you do the right thing at the right time even when you don’t feel like doing it
In conclusion, let’s read
Galatians 5:22-23 [TPT], But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions: joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of spirit.
God’s Generals always wear the complete fragrance wherever they are and at every time of the day. Are you the Preserved Generation? Are you in the Lord’s Army? Jesus is counting on you to dispense lovely smell to everyone around you and the world at large.
