I am sure you’ve seen posts on investment or let me say savings😉 Posts that encourage daily, weekly, monthly contributions…as low as N100 savings per day will definitely make you to ‘cash-out’ at the end of the year.
Do you know that either intentionally or by default, parents are making daily contributions into the lives of their children? Yes we are primarily responsible for investing into our children’s lives and I will like to encourage us to be intentional about the kind of investment we are making.
The kind of friends we have is an investment into our children’s lives. Remember, the saying – ‘it takes a village to raise a child’, can I ask who your village people are?
The kind of school we enrol our children is another INVESTMENT. The school doesn’t have to be expensive, posh, popular… If the value of the school doesn’t match your family values please pray to God to order your steps to the right place (you are not ‘disturbing’ God). Our children spend their most active hours in this environment therefore, we must ensure we get them into a healthy one.
I can boldly say that God brought us to this our current location to connect us with our children’s school. (Personal Experience)
God is interested in the way you raise these gifts – the Godly seed He wants in every marriage. Don’t do parenting without Him.
As much as God is interested, the devil will not fold his hands and watch you raise Godly seeds. However if God is your Partner – the Driver in your parenting journey, then you will finish strong.
Back to other kinds of investments. Our environment/location is another kind of package we are INVESTING into our children’s lives. We may not have full control over this, but we should however be like Moses’ Mother who raised Moses in Goshen for Pharoah’s daughter without Moses having a slavery mentality (just the Israelites) – at the same time, he didn’t see himself like the Egyptians (unbeliever).
Moses through the help of his parents despite his environment knew who he was in God and was able to fulfil his divine assignment.
The kind of church you attend (a place of fellowship) is another kind of INVESTMENT. Let me just allow the Holy Spirit to minister to you on this.
Media, Technology – are other kinds of INVESTMENTS.
The agenda of cartoons script-writers, producers or content creators is not to help us train our children…not even to help us baby sit as we have thought (like we send them to watch when we are busy). Their agenda is to make MONEY and also to fulfil the agenda of their father – the devil. So if the contents you are exposing your children to are not created from the real Father’s inspiration, then it is a bad investment.
This is why you need to be intentional about what you are investing in terms of the cartoon they watch, the music they listen too, the games they play…
Daily prayer for our children, managing our emotions, playing with our children…are examples of other kinds of investments
