Intentional Parenting Starts With Definition
Intentional parenting begins with clearly defining your intentions about being a parent. Without a clear intention, parenting can easily become nothing more than passing time and simply responding to life as it comes.
In simple terms,
Your intention must be daily accounted for, and there must be a logistic—a strategy, the how—around it. Without accountability and practical structure, the reality of being intentional becomes impossible.
Deuteronomy 6:6–9 (NLT)
6 “And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today.
7 Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.
8 Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders.
9 Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”
What This Teaches Us
Intention
God’s commandments must be passed down. Parenting is not random; it is a spiritual assignment.

We are accountable to God, the One who truly owns the children. They are entrusted to us, not possessed by us.
Logistics
God gives the strategy clearly—teach them when you sit, when you walk, when you lie down, when you rise… everywhere and every time. Intentional parenting is continuous, not occasional.
