Mid-year Reflection for Intentional Parents: My views…

My fellow intentional Parents, how market? 🤔😄

Six months gone in the year 2023 already, I am sure that somewhere and somehow, our parenting goals, skills, styles and all have been adjusted or corrected 😆😎

Anyway, irrespective of your parenting wins and challenges, I will like to encourage you with these views of mine on parenting. Peradventure, one or two of it can be of great help as we proceed year 2023 and journey through our parenting responsibilities.

<span;>1. “Children will be Children” is a kind of expectation that limits our children to what every other child is. You have to see your children with the eyes of God so you can groom them for purpose – that is with the kingdom agenda/assignment in mind.

2. Why do we see our children as just “children” when the devil sees them as potential threat? The stories around Moses and Jesus’ birth is enough to let us understand that the devil means business and not playing.

3. Everyday is an opportunity for us as parents to nurture our children intentionally else they will be named among the devil’s army. If you are not raising your children for the Kingdom then indirectly you are releasing them little by little to the camp of the enemy.  Ask Prophet Eli.

4. Every child is here on a mission that starts in their childhood therefore as parents we shouldn’t ‘commonise’ their childhood experience because it is an opportunity for us to groom them for that mission through the help of God.

5. Your children’s experiences matter in their journey to adulthood. Your influence as parents has a larger percentage in creating these experiences and how you see them determines your investments in their growth or their groan.

6. Children don’t grow automatically (spiritual, physical and mentally) they need food to grow. What kind of food are you feeding their mouth, heart and soul? Check your meal to avoid imbalance growth – ‘And Jesus Increase in wisdom and stature…’

7. Let the little children come to me, for theirs is the Kingdom of God. This is a commandment, not a plea or suggestion. How often do you take your children to Jesus? If you limit this to Sunday only thinking this commandment is about taking them to Sunday school then you are at the verge of loosing your children to whatever takes their attention and commitment everyday.

Which of these is/are your favourite?
