We all blame Eve for the present state we are now. We could have all been enjoying in the Garden of Eden, cruising and “chopping the life of our heads” just as God intention in the beginning.
She ate the forbidden fruit and by doing so, she disobeyed God and dishonoured her husband who told her about the instruction.
The consequence of that action wasn’t limited to her. It wasn’t just for her family. The whole world is affected, and you and I today are directly/indirectly suffering from her action even though we had not even been created when she sinned. However, we have our share of her punishment. Thank God for Jesus!

Can I tell you something? As parents, sometimes and somehow, we act like Eve. Even though we wish we could re-write the entire script of this heart breaking Bible story yet we repeat the same thing.
God gave every parent a mandate to ‘raise/train our children’. We allow ourselves to be distracted with career, business, religion…and then start the blame game just like Eve.
If we were asked why our children have turned out the way we are not proud of, our response would be either of the following or all of them. We will say things like, “the class teacher wasn’t friendly, the Sunday school teachers weren’t Godly, the environment was really corrupt, his/her peers forcefully enticed her/him, the social media wasn’t helpful, the constitution was too porous…and a million and one excuses for not obeying God’s command. The result of our disobedience has indirectly affected the society at large.
The first step to parenting right is the determination to honour and obey God: His Mandate, His Instructions…When you obey God diligently then intentional parenting will be easy.
