Things to be Intentional about as an Intentional Parent. Part 1- Three S

Being an Intentional Parent is not a slogan. It is a deliberate and conscious effort to nurture your children in the way that will enable them to achieving God’s purpose.

Your goal must align with God’s agenda for creating them and gifting them to you for such a time as this.

Therefore, as an Intentional Parent,  you must be intentional about the followings:

1. Your Spiritual Life: your children’s spiritual stability is directly proportional to your spiritual development. If you do not have a relationship with God as parent then don’t expect your children to be tongue speaking and demon binding. Your children’s spiritual life is a reflection of who you are in God.

“Read your Bible pray everyday’ isn’t just a Sunday School rhyme but a responsibility for Parents – an example for the children to see the importance of relating with God.

Note- Don’t wait until your children can read and write before you tell them about Jesus- the foundation is very important.

2. Your Spouse: the decision to marry a particular person is beyond ‘I love him or her’. Is the person capable (personal opinion) enough to be the father or mother of your children? Is the person part of the script of nurturing Godly seed for your generation? Is the person also an Intentional Parent just like you? Your children will manifest your home wherever they are. Choose wisely!

Note- Don’t be in a hurry to marry someone that doesn’t share your faith/belief, someone that you know will not be available to nurture Godly seed with you.

3. Your Children’s School.
The school should be an extension of your family values, goals and vision.  If the school doesn’t match with your standard (in terms of value added and not prestige) please feel free to take your children elsewhere. Don’t limit school to academics only – Good grades, beautiful environment and several paparazzi. What is the essence of having a child with 9A stars but no character, no value and no Godly nature?

Note – Prayerfully select the schools you want your children to go and be ready to go with God’s leading.
